The Ocean – 6 Jubilee Crescent, Radford, Coventry. CV6 3ET.
The Good
- Host was very entertaining, star of the show.
- Very friendly staff, nothing to fault about the service.
- Relaxed and a very nice atmosphere. Didn’t feel rushed
- Bhuna was yummy, thumbs up.
- Flock wallpaper
- Indian music
- comedy waiter
- generally friendly staff
- tasty dahl and paneer
- good standard of popadom accompaniments
- flavoursome food – not overly salty or greasy.
- I understand why the restaurant is rated locally, probably more for the service than the
- food, but the food isn’t bad too.
- My food was average but not bad.
- Retro decor.
- Unique service and host.
- I wouldn’t rush back for the food but might head back for the overall experience!
The not so good
- Restaurant decorations were from the 80s
- Table a bit snug
- No local pubs/bars to visit before or after.
- No pubs nearby for a pre/post dinner drink.
- Nothing revolutionary on the menu – pretty standard fare
- Only boiled sweets with bill – would prefer to see chocolate limes, After Eights, chocolate éclairs, Sherbert Dib Dabs etc.
- Standard of conversation, company, distance from my house.
- Quiet for a Friday night.
- Food was ok but nothing more than that.
- The 70s décor
